BBB’s Notebook – TNA Impact 04/05/10

impact-”Brother” count in Hogan‘s promo: 5.

-Jesus, is the spitting on the camera really necessary?

-Robert Roode is a cowboy? Someone fill Ric in on his fucking team….

-Chelsea needs her boobs done.

-Ok this promo is long as hell. Move on.

-Im an RVD mark. I admit it.

-Someone tell Storm he’s a heel and not to do the “Beer!” Thing anymore.

-RVD and James Storm was decent but the split-legged moonsault is not a finish.

-The TNA Knockout 4 box clusterfuck is overbooking at its finest.

-Hamada is kinda cute….

-Homicide, haven’t seen him in ages. I guess when you push Hall, Waltman and the Nasty Boys, someone has to get cut…

-And he jobs to Rob Terry and the internet weeps…

-Hahahaaa they had to put the Knockout stips on the screen because its confusing as fuck.

-Tara wins the first key, apparently they open the boxes after the match?

-And a Daffney and Velvet win keys….

-And Angelina. Ok, let’s see where this debacle leads….

-Apparently we open the boxes later. Time for the Ladder Match.

-Angles bump to the floor was sick.

-The parts of the ladder match I paid attention to were ok.

-BTLS, best TNA heel since Don West. Heard this clip on the Stern show and out of context it was lame and on the show it was lame. Lethal steals the promo anyway.

-3D and the Guns was good until the Band run in. I do agree with Nash though, The Band is a brutal name.

-Bubba must be in his fuckin’ glory….

-Elijah‘s runnin’ with the ball.

-Liked Williams promo. Good and logical angle. Williams rolling German is still awesome.

-Pope and Wolfe was a waste. Why even do it. The journey means something… Just a reminder.

-OK, time for the Knockouts to open their boxes.. (Giggle)

-Velvet gets the open contract.

-Tara gets her fucking spider….

-Angelina gets the Knockouts title which means Daffney has to strip. Lame.

-Lacey interrupts Daffney so she can strip… So poorly done. Angelina and Tara scrap….

-And Velvet cashed in her contract for a leather and lace match with Angelina. Brutal.

Wells leads Jays comeback

ARLINGTON — The Blue Jays staged a late rally, pulling out a 3-1 victory over the Rangers on Thursday afternoon at Rangers Ballpark. Aided by a strong performance from starter Ricky Romero and the continued hot streak of center fielder Vernon Wells, Toronto claimed its first series win of the season.

Trailing 1-0 in the ninth inning, Wells belted a pitch from Rangers closer Frank Francisco deep to left field for a solo home run to pull the game into a tie. It marked the fourth home run in the past three games for Wells, who has now homered in three consecutive games for the first time since Aug. 23-26, 2008. The Jays scored two more runs off Francisco to grab a 3-1 lead.

That took Romero off the hook for what would have been a hard-luck loss in his season debut for the Blue Jays (2-1). In seven innings of work, Romero was charged with one run on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks. The left-hander created 10 outs via ground balls, but it was a seventh-inning wild pitch that led to the lone run he surrendered.

With one out in the home half of the seventh inning, Romero allowed a double to Texas left fielder David Murphy. Two batters later, Romero threw a pitch that dove sharply to the dirt in front of home plate, where Jays catcher Jose Molina was unable to glove the baseball. The wild pitch allowed Murphy to score from third base, putting the Blue Jays behind, 1-0.

Toronto’s ninth-inning comeback also saddled Rangers left-hander C.J. Wilson — strictly a reliever in each of the past four seasons — with a no-decision after he held the Blue Jays’ bats in check for much of the afternoon. In his first start since 2005, Wilson blanked the Blue Jays for seven innings, compiling nine strikeouts against two walks for Texas (1-2).

BBB’s Notebook – WWE Friday Night Smackdown 04/02/10

smackdown-Jerichos promo was hot. He’s on such a roll right now.

-Swagger cashes in his MitB and becomes World Champion. Pretty unexpected and poorly done in my opinion.

-Shad turns on JTG… Packing a lot into the first 40-or-so minutes of SD.

-What the fuck is True Jackson VP?

-Hog Splash!! LoL

-Oh that Swagger….

-Khali’s foot touched the bottom rope….? But a huge win for Ziggler.

-Bye Khali. See you in a few months.

-Serena has a huge rack.

-Beth Phoenix dominates!

-Kane and the NXT roster was interesting. Unsure of the purpose but interesting nonetheless.

Chris Kanyon commits suicide

Chris Klucsaritis, who wrestled as Chris Kanyon, passed away last night from an overdose of pills at his apartment in the Sunnyside section of Queens, NY, last night. He was 40.

Klucsaritis’ death is believed to be a suicide. He had been open about suffering from a bipolar disorder and had talked and threatened suicide many times in the past according to those who are close with him.

He had been talking about going through another bout with depression and taking his life earlier in the week. Because he had talked about it so often, it was

Klucsaritis was trained locally in New York by Bobby Bold Eagle, and later in Columbua, SC by Lillian “Fabulous Moolah” Ellison at her home gym in Columbia, SC, and developed into an innovative and underrated wrestler. He debuted in 1992, and wrestled the bulk of his career for WCW.

He started with Mark Starr as part of a tag team “Men at Work,” and later developed the Mortis gimmick. His highest profile role, including holding the WCW tag team titles, came with Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow as the Jersey Triad.

During that period, he also worked in Hollywood on movie sets during a boom period for pro wrestling when the movie industry was interested in films, including on “Ready to Rumble” and a made-for-TV movie on Jesse Ventura.

He was a victim of the demise of WCW, as WWE wasn’t really a good fit for him stylistically. Even though he was 6-3, he did not possess the kind of look they wanted. He was also plagued by injuries during that period and was finally released in 2004.

He attempted to get back into the major leagues doing a gimmick as the first openly gay pro wrestler, later admitting to be gay in real life. He tried to garner publicity claiming WWE fired him for being gay, but the publicity went nowhere. TNA was also not interested in the gimmick. He had wrestled sparingly in recent years, had announced a retirement, but still on occasion wrestled.

He was part of a lawsuit with Scott Levy and Mike Sanders against WWE for misclassifying wrestlers as independent contracts, but the suit was thrown out of court because the statute of limitations had expired on filing such a suit.

News, Views and Schmooze

Well… It’s been a while since I posted anything on what’s going down in Boris-world and I figure this is as good a time as any. I’m watching the Raw after WrestleMania and figure I’d throw down some stuff on the site.

First and foremost, as I’m sure most already know I have a new job. After just over 7 years I have left Best Buy. There’s a lot I could say about BBY but most of it wouldn’t realy interest anyone but I met some great people and had some great experiences but I think I took it as far as I could and really as far as I wanted too. It was time to branch out and leave the comfort zone and try something new which is exactly what I did.

I’m now in the General Manager Training program at Safeway. Working out of the Cromdale store. It’s been a few weeks and there is a LOT to learn but it’s going well and I hope to help that store return to prominence. If you’re in the neighborhood (and why the fuck would you be??) Come by and say hi.

And I find it greatly amusing that Mr. Tyler Lewis and myself have started a Best Buy veteran exile that continues to grow. There are a lot of great people at BBY and several of them have recently left the company for greener pastures and I’m happy for each and every one of them. I wish them all great amounts of success. I could also do a little mocking of the last BBY GM I worked for who was recently….. Removed but that would be unclassy of me, and I’m a classy motherfucker.

In other news, I’ve finished a few books recently….

“I Slept With Joey Ramone” by Mickey Leigh (Joeys brother) was tremendous. It gave a lot of insight into the life of Joey Ramone and the Ramones as a band and keeps it real. The good, the bad and the ugly is exposed and its raw and real like it or not. Word is that its been optioned as a film, very curious as to the potential casting.

I also just finished “Why We Suck” by Denis Leary. I’ve been a fan of Learys comedy for many years and when I came across the book by accident and Indigo I was stoked and it didn’t disappoint. Everyone should read this book. Women will understand their husbands more clearly, white people will understand black people and vice versa and we will pretty much just be better off as humanity if you check out the book.

Musically I’ve been checking out a lot of stuff thanks to how fucking easy it is to spend money on iTunes. “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix” by Phoenix is incredible. I slept on this one for a long time and wish I would have jumped on it earlier as its more then stellar.

Also, “I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart” by Butch Walker and the Black Widows is awesome. I’ve read Gregory McDonalds twitter over the past few months and he was playing with them and talked about Walker a lot. I took a chance on it and was pleasantly surprised. (For those that don’t know, and if you don’t you suck, Gregory McDonald has been playing keyboards etc for Sloan at gigs for the past few years.)

Also, the latest Nitzer Ebb, Attack in Black, Band of Skulls, Features, HIM, Joel Plaskett, KMFDM, Sloan, Prodigy, Rural Alberta Advantage and Vampire Weekend are all worth giving a spin.

I’m also checking out some older bands like The Pixies, Stiff Little Fingers and the Beta Band (yes, because of the movie, fuck you.)

In terms of movied, loved Observe and Report, it was funny and I have a man-crush on Seth Rogen. Wanna check out Cop Out because of my man-crush on Kevin Smith.

WrestleMania was last Sunday, I will need to watch it again when the dvd comes out because we spent too much time fucking around during the actual ppv (as you’ll see in 3BTV.)

Speaking of 3BTV, I don’t know if anyone cares or watches but I enjoy putting things out in the world. Things like this site or my twitter. I’m sure no one gives a shit what I say but I feel better putting it out there. Look up Catharsis kids.

That’s it for now. Behave yourselves, or Tex will come to get you…. And I can make it happen…
