BBB’s Notebook – TNA iMPACT! 01/14/10

impactWell, I’ll enjoy the six-sided ring for the last time….

-Generation Me is a brutal name, but not much worse then the Young Bucks I suppose.

-Gen Me and the Guns was a lot of fun. Indy spot fest at its finest.

-Nasty Boys? I thought that would be a one-shot deal. Fuck.

-I think Hogan oversold Kennedy‘s arrival at the ppv, but that’s an age old story.

-Tomko is the masked man. Big fuckin’ deal.

-Jesus, Hall looks royally fucked up.

-I liked Angelina Love’s return.

-”Have a exquisite evening” Hahaha.

-Uh Saggs, what is throwing beer cans against a locker going to accomplish. This whole Nasty Boys thing is going to be awful.

-Ok, we just found out that Tomko is the masked man and there is vingettes for themain event already??

-”Ladies I’m here?” Does Vince own ‘Hello Ladies?’

-The Daniels/Morely segment wasn’t bad.

-Tomko and Styles was incredibly anti-climatic.

BBB’s Notebook – WWE Raw 01/11/10 (Mike Tyson)

raw-Cena‘s Punch Out reference was fuckin’ funny.

-Ok, this opening segment has gone on too long. Cut to the chase people.

-Mike Tyson in the main event….

-Santino wins the All American American American American American American Challenge.

-Orton, Kofi and Cena was good.

-The Miz and MVP‘s segment was ok, but it was too long and I’m sick of the whole MVP/jail thing. We get it.

-Vintage Tyson. I can’t decide if I liked how the main event went down. The punch looked good though.

BBB’s Notebook – WWE Friday Night Smackdown 01/08/10

smackdown-Great finish to Ziggler and Kane.

-Tyson Kidd has to have everything in perfect working condition? Like a monitor backstage?

-Cryme Tyme/R-Truth vs. The Harts/Jericho was good.

-James kinda looks like Warren from Empire Records.

-Stop calling him Warren, his name isn’t fuckin’ Warren!!

-CM Punk heel beard!

-Maria is on Celebrity Apprentice. I believe I speak for everyone when I say: Who gives a fuck.

-”Straight Edge society is not just a minor threat.” I get it…

-New action figures… Product Placement!!

-MOO!! Hahahaha!!!

-Layla got owned.

-Brutal finish to Rey and Batista. Crowd hated it.

BBB’s Notebook – TNA iMPACT! 01/04/10 (Hulk Hogan)

impact-Bubba the Love Sponge

-Oh god, never talk to the fans…..

-Let the Brian Knobbs countdown begin.

-Ok, so the “new” TNA means a no-contest in the first match, in a steel cage? Fans are not happy.

-Oh yay oh joy oh rapture, its Jeff Hardy

-A police escort to the Impact Zone….

-ODB you little cheater….

-Ric Ric Ric Ric…..

-Kristal Lashley has spoken….

-The Beautiful People are playing strip poker, a semi-humorous first segment. Very 1998-WWE. We’ll see how it shakes out.

-Hall and Waltman, oh god…

-Hogans nWo rip-off music is hilarious.

-You’ve been in the back all day long? Did we just not see your police escort??

-This big face-off with Hogan/Hall/Waltman makes with no backstory, totally out of the blue makes no sense.

-Oh lord here comes Bischoff.

-If it’s “a new time” then why are we rehashing the same old bullshit.

-That format bit could have been planned just a little better.

-Ok, change. We get it…

-Sting in the rafters was a nice touch.

-Knockouts tag-title match was pretty good.

-Val fucking Venis. Choppy choppy your pee pee.

-There it is!! 1 hour 37 minutes, Brian Knobbs.

-Morgan and Hernandez vs. Raven and Stevie was a waste. Its like they had to get a “match” out of the way so they could continue with the promos, vingettes and appearances.

-Orlando Jordan. Is this the fucking Hulkamania tour or TNA?

-We love Hogan, we hate Hogan, we love Hogan, we hate Hogan….

-Jeff Hardy is in the locker room… Painting…

-Abyss and Joe was decent for what it was.

-Krystal plays the bitch pretty well.

-Fuck, Bubba doing a promo over a beaten Beer Money was hilarious…

-The Jeff Hardy screaming girls was lame.

-The Nasty Boys called Bubba Dudley fat??

-Ok, wouldn’t Styles be the least bit curious who was under the fucking mask??

-”Who needs Bret” chant. Pretty creative.

-Angle and Styles was very good but the spots got repetitive and they both kicked out of way too much shit. Good match though.

-Jesus pull back, that’s a lot of Hogan.

Well, in conclusion I think they packed way too much shit into the show. Too many debuts and guest appearances, they all seemed to blend together. And they overshadowed the work, aside from AJ and Angle, none of the matches stick out.

BBB’s Notebook – WWE Monday Night Raw 01/04/10 (Bret Hart)

raw-I must admit, when Bret came out it was a moment I figured I’d never see again.

-Bret and Shawn. Pretty fuckin’ surreal.

-Ok, the “I offer my hand in friendship” was pretty cheesy.

-Haha that was the most insincere hug I’ve ever seen!

-Melina is hurt so we get a Divas tournament.

-Maryse and the Bellas sucked. I hope this is an angle to break of the twins or they got buried big time.

-Santinos Jericho was pretty funny.

-DX and JeriShow was fun.

-Is it possible Sheamus will hold the Strap until WM?

-Classy tribute to Dr. Death.

-Kofi and Orton was decent.

-Mike Tyson next week. I wonder if Cold Stone will be there…

-Stu in the HoF. Good shit.

-Tremendous ending with the kick in the junk…

BBB’s Notebook – A Bunch of Stuff

I  listen to a lot of cd’s and read a lot of books and watch my fair share of movies and I always want to write reviews for them but I just don’t have it in me.  I read magazines and websites and they have these incisive, long winded reviews but I just can’t seem to make those happen.  However, I will give my short but sweet opinion on some recent things I’ve digested.

Behind the Bell by Dustin Diamond – I heard Diamond plugging his book on the Stern show saying it would dish all the behind the scened dirt on SBTB, and being that I grew up on that show I was intrigued.  A few things need to be said, the book is horribly written, and the editor and/or printer needs to be fired.  There is weird spacing issues and paragraphs are jus repeated on afther the other, very weird.  That being said, it was a fun read.  Not too much ‘dir,’ nothing overly shocking but what I did find most interesting was how the show was put together during a week period.  It’s worth a gander just for that.

Kiss “Sonic Boom” – I enjoyed this a lot more then I thought I would.  It was like getting a phone call from an old friend you haven’t talked to in a long time, and he just wanted to remind you that he’s still awesome.

Alice In Chains “Black Gives Way to Blue” – Really solid outing, but the new vocalist sounds a lot like Layne which doesn’t sit well with me for some reason that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Jay-Z “The Blueprint III” – I am not a hip-hop afficianado by any stretch, but the track Empire State of Mind really got under my skin.  I think the album is tremendous.
