And So it Begins Again….

Hockey season begins tommorow and I am cautiously optomistic (As I usually am) about the Flames.  J-Bo really shores up our defence and although we will miss Cammaleri’s (sic) offensive output, hopefully the boys can make up for it.

It’s going to be an interesting Northwest division, The Oilers will be improved this year with a better coach and a better goalie and the Canucks look to be a powerhouse.

Bring it on, I’m ready…..

Artie Lange Pleads Guilty to DUI

We’ve learned comedian Artie Lange just pled guilty to one count driving under the influence of a habit-producing drug.

Cops say Artie — who was pulled over in Tom’s River, NJ on July 10 — had a prescribed sleeping pill in his system when he got behind the wheel.

Lange was fined $664, his driver’s license was revoked for seven months and he has to serve 12 hours in an intoxicated driver resource program.

Lange’s lawyer, MIchael Grasso, says Artie pled guilty because “If we would have taken it to trial the interest of the media would have outweighed the best interests of my client.”

Grasso also said the prosecution planned to call more than 10 witnesses and he would have had to counter that with a dozen witnesses of his own — so the plea just made sense.

BBB’s Notebook – WWE Friday Night Smackdown 09/25/09

-The Undertaker/Teddy Long limo gimmick made me chuckle thinking of the “Where to Stephanie!!!” Moment of yesteryear. I wonder if I can find a YouTube…

-Ziggler/Knox vs. Finlay/Morrison was good.

-I still don’t understand that weird machine-gun-thing Batista does during his entrance.

-Miz and Morrison looked like they had fun on “5th Grader.”

-Viscious backdrop-driver by Harry in his win over JTG.

-’Taker and Punk was technically sound and well booked.

-Knockouts Tag Title match was good.

-This thing with Borash and Foley and the picture is lame.

-Joe/Daniels/Homicide was really good.

-Matt Morgan is over.

-Apparently the relationship between the MEM and World Elite is over. And World Elite came out looking badly.

-The Alissa Flash beatdown was cool.

-What did Stevie do to Nash‘s balls?

-Daffney is awesome.

-Abyss was juicing pretty good.

-It appears TNA have gone the opposite of WWE in terms of the PG rating. Lots of blood and sexual conduct.

BBB’s Notebook – WWE RAW 09/21/09

-I hate contract signings.

-The US title belt-stealing thing is lame. Waste of a segment.

-The Cedric switcheroo was pretty transparent.

-Saying goodbye to Lillian was classy.

Fleury’s tryout with Flames ends

Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today that Theoren Fleury has been released from his try-out agreement.

“I believe Theoren did a great job and should be proud, especially considering all the factors including age, time away from the game and lifestyle change,” said Sutter.

“This is not a hockey story; it’s a life story. Our agreement with Theoren was that he had to be one of our top six wingers and there were never any intentions of assigning him to the American Hockey League.”

“I am very thankful to Darryl and the Flames organization for following through on the commitment to provide me with this opportunity,” said Fleury.

“I said in the beginning that no matter what the outcome, this would be a success story. I intend to take the next few days to review this experience and make decisions with my family regarding next steps in my life.”

Flames training camp continues at the Pengrowth Saddledome this weekend with the final pre-season game scheduled for Saturday, September 26th versus the Vancouver Canucks.

Twenty-seven players (three goaltenders, 8 defensemen and 16 forwards) remain on the training camp roster.

Lest We Forget…

The time has come to be realistic. I have the last 4 weeks or so of wrestling TV (Raw, Smackdown, Impact, ROH and ECW) on the PVR and I will never catch up at the rate I am going….

So I have erased everything up to this past Monday. Hopefully now I will be able to keep up. I’m sure I can catch up on the ever-so-intricate storylines in a flash….
