Let’s see what our friends in Calgary got….

-Haha, King says “they think a little differently up here.” Preparing the viewers for some heel-cheering.

-The mix of Jericho and Big Shows music is brutal.

-Huge pop for Jericho.

-The diva 4-way was a bit of a cluster but fun to watch.

-Slaughters heeling out… Kinda lame but humorous.

-That guy ripped his sign in half!! Too funny.

-”Not only did Jack Swagger not win the match, he lost the match!” Good job King…

-Bourne and Swagger was good but too short.

-Hated the shove by MVP on Swagger. Strong heels people! Swagger got punked bad.

-Ok. DX vingette #1. Lame.

-Jillian singing God Bless America, lame. Slaughters one promo was enough.

-Eugene? What the fuck? Contract on a pole? Calgary Kid? Trying to figure out who it is.

-Oh wait, I know…. And I was right. Miz is in pretty good shape!

-DX vingette #2. Lame.

-Swagger gets his heat back… Sort of.

-DX vingette #3. Lame (except for Summer Fest comment.) Shawn Michaels beats kids….

-The Bret Hart tease was pretty badly done but kinda funny.

-So Hornswoggle finally gets taken out…. And not by Chavo….

-Nice swerve with Jerichos promo.

-Ah the ‘Dome!

-Jericho and Cena was decent.

-The RKO off Cenas shoulders was cool.

Drew!!

BBB’s Notebook - WWE Superstars 08/09/09

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

-Santino and Chris Masters was blah.

-Reks/Tatsu vs. Regal/Burchill was decent.

-Wrigley Field looks cool.

-Knox and Rey was ok, nothing special.

BBB’s Notebook - ROH on HDNet 08/08/09

Monday, August 24th, 2009

-The Embassy has to be the longest running faction in ROH history.

-Oh Prince Nana, you dastardly heel…

-Delirious and Silas Young was decent.

-A “slap the porpoise” sign? Don’t encourage that fuck….

-A Danielson vingette on his future. Irony…

-Mark Briscoe successfully returns against Alex Payne.

-Davey Richards and Generico turned into a fun little brawl. Loved the ECDub chant at the old arena.

Damn.

I didn’t make it. Not even close. Epic fail.

The Saga Continues

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

It’s almost 2… It was raining earlier but stopped and I was considering taking a walk but it has started to downpour which effectively nixes that idea….

The bizarre thing is I really don’t feel like watching wrestling which sucks because now is a great time to eliminate some stuff on the PVR.

Fuck.

No sooner did I send that last post, and I set down my Blackberry and inadvertently knocked over my last Rock Star and spilled half of it….

Saturday Night

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Ok, So Chantal wants me to stay up until 9 or so so she can sleep in (I keep my overnight work sleep schedule and the Captain gets up at 7-ish) so I’m trying to figure out what to do to keep busy. Its 1:30 and I’m flipping between An Evening With Kevin Smith 2 on Super Channel and King of Kong on Movie Central. I’m also on my last Rock Star (There is however a fridge full of beer…) Its gonna be a long night.

BBB’s Notebook - WWE Vintage Collection 08/08/09

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

wwevintageWe continue our journey down SummerSlam lane… Let’s go to the video tape….

-We open with Flexy Lexy and Yokozuna on the intrepid.

-lol!! Peter Taglianetti tried to slam Yoko, I didn’t know that!!

-Lex arrived by chopper…

-Our first match is from 1992 at Wembley. El Matador takes on Papa Shango, which apparently was not shown on the original ppv event.

-Shango wins with a fucked up shoulderbreaker.

-Up next is Curt Hennig vs. Shawn Michaels from 1993.

-HBK wins by countout. Shitty finish to a great match.

-How’s this for a clusterfuck… The Warlord/Hercules/Paul Roma vs. Steamboat/Kerry Von Erich/British Bulldog….

-Piper was good on commentary.

-Fun match, a bit of a clusterfuck but its all good. Babies get the win.

-We see clips of the Lex Express with the “Hero” song. Makes me hate and love wrestling all at the same time.

-Our final match is Lex and Yoko from 1993 in Detroit.

-Man, Yoko was huge.

-Luger wins by countout… Yay.

-And then babyface locker roon comes out to celebrate a countout win…
