Saturday, June 30th, 2007The Bridge
Saturday, June 30th, 2007Just finished watching 'The Bridge. ' It's poignant, disturbing, strangely heartwarming and definitly hard to watch.
You get to know these people through their family testimonials. You sympathize and in my case even empathize with them. You want to help but at the same time you know that the leap off the bridge is looming and you know you will see it, it will be shoved in your face as a period to the end of the sentence no matter what was said by anyone.
Watch this film, take what you will from it but I know I'll never see the Golden Gate Bridge on a postcard or on TV, and not think of the troubled souls who plunge from it as a final end to whatever has been slowly killing them already.
Big Brother 8
Saturday, June 30th, 2007Finally we have a list of “contestants” for this years Big Brother, my favorite reality show. There appears to be some sort of ‘enemy’ twist this year, I guess we will wait and see…. And the house kinda has an Alice in wonderland feel to it. Anyway, here is this years crop of douchbags:
Happy Birthday

Stuff
Thursday, June 28th, 2007-I’ve been racking my brain about what to write about Benoit. It’s an internal dialogue of “He’s someone I really admire” and “He’s a piece of shit who did the unspeakable.” The media has certainly latched on to the whole steroid deal but that is to be expected as it makes a good story. As more details come out it gets more bizarre and upsetting. I’m tired of hearing about it and I’m tired of people asking me about it but I don’t think the ’story’ is going to go away any time soon.
-So all of a sudden Billy Corgan is public enemy number 1 in the music scene. The Pumpkins will be releasing 4 different versions of Zeitgeist, one for Target, one for Best Buy, one for iTunes and one for everybody else. Apparently each one will have an exclusive track. I’ve been reading articles and people are saying Corgan is an asshole and he’s fleecing his fans….. When did this become such a horrible thing? First off, it may be a record company thing and not a band thing and second, no one says you gotta buy them all!! Lighten up people.
-I’ve been hearing the new Bad Religion song on the radio here and there and it’s starting to grow on me.
-Chantal got ahold of screener passes for Die Hard 4 and we went to see it Tuesday night and it’s awesome. I was worried it would suck and not live up to the franchise but it’s really good and the Apple computer dude was really good as well.
The Weekend
Monday, June 25th, 2007A busy weekend as usual….
Saturday we had Jonnys last T Ball tournament, and then the PWA show. T Ball was fun as usual and he really enjoys it. PWA… well it started off ok, and ended up incredibly painfully. That’s all I’ll say.
Sunday we had to stop by Chantals work for a bit which was good as it gave me time to eat my tasty Tim Hortons sandwich (yes, I hear you Chris…) and then we headed to fucking Sephora…. The happiest place on earth… if you have a uterus. Chantal bought some stuff and I had a fit about the aformentioned Dirt cologne.
After that we headed to Hudsons for some Nachos and wings and I had a tasty pint of Canadian, then stopped at Chantals moms to do something (I don’t remember why we went there….) After that we popped by Dustins for the Vengeance ppv which totally licked balls. No Benoit sucked and kinda killed everyones mood.
For a nightcap we stopped at The Cheesecake Cafe for a snack. Chantal ordered some fucked up spicy weird shit and I forgot and stole a baby corn and preceeded to die. Fucking horrible, how do people eat that. Boris the waiter (yeah, that’s right) thought it was funny, even though he doesn’t know the differance between chicken and beef.
Dirt?
Monday, June 25th, 2007
We saw this at Sephora (AKA Heaven for women) yesterday and I can’t wrap my head around it. Here’s the writeup:
Invoke memories of endless summer days playing outside in the dirt and mud. This cologne was created to smell exactly like the dirt from fields surrounding a Pennsylvania family farm.
Demeter creates scents that are drawn from memories to transport a person back to a special place or time.

Lightening
Thursday, June 21st, 2007Last night there was a lightening storm, I tried to catch some of it with my camera. (Ignore the Stern in the background.)
